Adventure Groups

"Adventure Groups” are special interest activity groups that you may sign up to attend or lead. Whether you enjoy a brisk hike in the woods, a day out on the water, or a quiet afternoon of crafting, you’re sure to find friends of all ages that share your enthusiasm for your favorite hobby. Fill out the Adventure Groups flyer inthe Sunday bulletin and drop in the offering bag. A bulletin board will be posted soon in the hallway by the kitchen with upcoming dates for activities. Fiesta de Verano

Sunday, June 7, 3:00 p.m.

 Estan todos invitados a la Fiesta de Verano! Bring some of your favorite Mexican food dishes and come to the first potluck “fiesta” of the summer on Sunday, June 7th at 3:00 p.m. at McCormick Park in St. Helens.  At this “summer party” there will also be a homemade salsa contest, so practice your favorite recipe and bring it along. Everyone is asked to bring a Mexican main dish, as well as a side dish to share. Also, there will be water baptisms in the creek during the picnic. The water baptism class will take place that morning during the 9:00 a.m. worship service at church; sign up at the Information Desk in the Commons if you would like to be water baptized at the picnic.

Promotion Sunday

Sunday, June 14

On Sunday, June 14th all children in Columbia Kids Ministry and youth in The Rock 7-12th grade ministry will move up to their next grade level in all classes and activities for Promotion Sunday.  All children and youth will be promoted to the grade level that they will be entering into in the fall of 2015; for example, all students entering the 7th grade may attend The Rock 7-12th grade youth worship service.

The Rock Summer Kick-Off Party

Sunday, June 14, 3:00 p.m.

The Rock invites all 7-12th grade students to start their summer vacation right at The Rock Summer Kick-Off Party on Sunday, June 14th. Come welcome in the new 7th grade class and meet together at the church at 3:00 p.m. to carpool to the Bullwinkle’s Family Fun Center. The cost is free to all new 7th grade students, and $20.00 for 8-12th grade students.  Bring a sack dinner or extra money for food. Students must sign up by June 10th to reserve a spot; late signups will not be able to attend. Sign up and pay today at the Information Desk in the Commons.

The Rock Guy’s Wilderness Adventure

June 19-20

All 7-12th grade guys are invited to find their inner “Survivorman” at The Rock Guy’s Wilderness Adventure, June 19-20th. Reconnect with the great outdoors at this overnighter for all guys eager to gain survival skills, have fun, and enjoy God’s rustic creation. Location, cost and permission slips will be posted soon; check the bulletin and website for upcoming details and pre-register at the Information Desk.  

Vacation Bible School

June 22-26

Vacation Bible School “Everest Camp” is a fun, free week where kids can go to camp without leaving town! All children ages 4 through entering the 6th grade are invited to come have a blast all week long with tons of games, rockin’ worship and learning about conquering challenges through God’s mighty power. VBS will be held June 22-26th from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Pre-register today by filling out a VBS form in the Commons.  Also, if you would like to volunteer at this year’s VBS, see Children’s Pastor Abby Olson or contact her via email at

Honor the Grads Slideshow

Sunday,  June 7

 If you are a graduating high school senior, you are invited to be a part of the Honor the Grads Slideshow on Sunday, June 7th during the Sunday Morning Worship Services. Turn in a baby picture, grade school picture, and your senior picture along with the job field you wish to pursue by sending it in digital format to Youth Director Miriam Rotter.. Congratulations graduates!

The Rock Parent Email Registration

If you are the parent of a 7-12th grade student, register your email address today for The Rock Youth Ministry parent contact list. Receive up-to-date information on the latest events and ministry opportunities for your child offered at The Rock.  Also, if you have a child entering the 7th grade in the fall of 2015, register your email address now as 7th grade students are welcomed in to The Rock this June. You can register your address also by sending an email to Youth Director Miriam Rotter with your child's name and grade.

Save the Date: NextGen Summer Camps

This summer, the Foursquare District NextGen Summer Camps will be held at Canby Grove Christian Center in Canby. NextGen Camps invite all kids and youth entering 3-12th grade to come spend the best week of their summer at camp! The dates for this year’s camps are: High School Camp, July 9-13th, Middle School Camp July 13-17th, and Kid’s Camp July 20-23rd. Watch the bulletin for upcoming camp fundraiser opportunities.
