The Rock Summer Kick-Off Beach Trip

Saturday,  June 11, 8:00 a.m.

The Rock invites all 7-12th grade students to start off their summer vacation with some fun in the sun at The Rock Summer Kick-Off Beach Trip, Saturday, June 11th. Come welcome in the new 7th grade class and meet together at the church at 8:00 a.m. to carpool to Long Beach. The cost is $20.00 for 8-12th grade students, and free to the incoming 7th grade class! Bring a sack lunch or extra money for food. Students must sign up by June 5th to reserve a spot. Sign up, pay and pick up a permission slip at the Information Desk in the Commons.

Promotion Sunday

On Sunday, June 12th all children in Columbia Kids Ministry and youth in The Rock 7-12th grade ministry will move up to their next grade level in all classes and activities for Promotion Sunday.  All children and youth will be promoted to the grade level that they will enter in the fall of 2016; for example, students entering the 7th grade are welcomed in to The Rock 7-12th grade worship service.

Honor the Grads Slideshow

Sunday, June 12

If you are a graduating high school senior, you are invited to be a part of the Honor the Grads Slideshow on Sunday, June 12th during the Sunday Morning Worship Services. Turn in a baby picture, grade school picture, and your senior picture along with the job field you wish to pursue by sending it in digital format to Youth Director Miriam Rotter at Congratulations graduates!

Fiesta de Verano Picnic

Sunday, June 12, 1:00 p.m.

Estan todos invitados a la Fiesta de Verano! Bring some of your favorite Mexican food dishes and come to the first potluck “fiesta” of the summer on Sunday, June 12th at 1:00 p.m. at McCormick Park in St. Helens.  At this “summer party” there will also be a salsa recipe contest, so bring your favorite home-made salsa. Everyone is asked to bring a Mexican main dish, as well as a side dish or dessert to share. Also, there will be water baptisms during the picnic; sign up for the baptism class at the Information Desk.

Vacation Bible School Decorations

June 4 & 11

 If you are an artist, or you can hold a paintbrush, come join the VBS Decorating Team on Saturday June 4th and Saturday, June 11th. Meet at the church from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., or from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.  each Saturday to create the incredible decorations used to transform the church for Vacation Bible School. Also, helpers are welcome to decorate the VBS Float for the parade on Friday, June 17th at the church. Children are invited to ride on the float during the parade on Saturday, June 18th, but must be accompanied by a parent. Vacation Bible School

June 20-24

Vacation Bible School is a fun, free week where kids can go to camp without leaving town! All children ages 4 through entering the 6th grade are invited to come have a blast all week long with tons of games, rockin’ worship and learning about conquering challenges through God’s mighty power. Camp Crestview Registration

Registration is now open for this year’s summer camps at the historic Camp Crestview in the beautiful Columbia River Gorge. Kids and youth in 3-12th grade are invited to spend the best week of their summer at camp! Experience a life-changing week of rockin’ worship, prayer, team games, the zip line, paintball, swimming, and much more! The dates for this year’s camps are as follows: Kid’s Camp: July 11-14th , Jr. & Sr. High Camp: July 18-22nd. All registrations and payments will be online; visit to register with your full payment. Registration closes two weeks prior to each camp’s starting date. Also,  if you would like to scholarship a child or teen to attend camp this year, visit and select the “donate to the camp fund” option.

Prime Timer’s Seattle Bus Trip

Saturday, September 24

The Prime Timers Ministry welcomes everyone 55+ to a day trip to Seattle by bus on Saturday, September 24th. The cost is $30.00 per person, not including gratuity. Meet at the church at 8:00 a.m. to depart, and return home at approximately 9:00 p.m. Sign up and pay today in the Commons to attend this fun day trip to the “Emerald City”.
